Pudong Airport Parking and Park, Sleep and Fly: P1, P2 and P4 Rates and Hotels with Free Parking
Pudong’s official car parks are simple and inexpensive by international standards, and most of the airport hotels park guests free, which makes a park, sleep and fly night cheaper than at most European hubs. This page gives the official rates as last published and the hotels where the car can stay.
Official car parks
P1 is the short-term garage closest to Terminal 1 and P2 the one closest to Terminal 2, both in the central area between the terminals a few minutes’ walk from the departures halls. The last published tariff was 10 yuan an hour for the first two hours and 5 yuan an hour after that, capped at 130 yuan per 24 hours, with the first 20 minutes free. They suit drop-offs and trips of a day or two.
P4 is the long-term garage a short drive from the terminals, at 5 yuan an hour capped at 60 yuan per 24 hours, again with the first 20 minutes free on the first day. A free shuttle bus runs 24 hours between P4 and the terminals, stopping near arrivals hall Gate 8 at T1 and arrivals hall Gate 27 at T2. For a week’s trip the difference against P1 and P2 is several hundred yuan.
Payment is by card, Alipay or WeChat at the exit; rates are set by the airport and change, so check the Shanghai Airport Group website before relying on the numbers above.
Park, sleep and fly at the hotels
Most airport hotels here include parking and will usually let a guest’s car stay while they travel if asked at booking; none of them sells a formal package, so confirm the number of days and any charge before you leave the car.
Walking distance to the terminals: the Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Airport and Dazhong Airport Hotel on Yingbin Avenue both list free guest parking and are six to ten minutes on foot from check-in, which avoids a shuttle altogether.
On a free shuttle: the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Shanghai Pudong Airport (free parking, shuttle from early morning to midnight), the Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Pudong Airport (free parking, shuttle 9:30 am to 3:30 am) and the Holiday Inn Express Shanghai PVG Zhuqiao (free parking, shuttle from 4:30 am) are the natural choices.
Further out: the Wyndham Shanghai Pudong, The Qube Hotel Shanghai Pudong, Novotel Shanghai Chuansha, Fuyi Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone all list free parking, useful when the trip starts with a Disney day.
Electric vehicles
Charging points exist in the official garages and at some hotels, including The Qube. Availability is not guaranteed at peak times; arrive with charge to spare.
Rental cars
