Aerotel Shanghai
Aerotel Shanghai is the only hotel inside Shanghai Pudong International Airport: 82 rooms on Levels 6 and 7 of Terminal 2, on the landside of security, opened in September 2025 by the Plaza Premium Group. Rooms are sold by the hour or the night, the desk is open around the clock, and the security checkpoints for domestic and international departures are about three minutes from the door. For a dawn departure, a late arrival, or a long gap between flights that does not justify a trip into the city, it removes the shuttle question entirely.

Guest Rooms
The 82 rooms come in four types. Premier Double and Premier Twin rooms (36 to 40 sq.m.) sleep two adults with one or two children and face either the runway or the terminal; the Premier Twin has two large beds. Deluxe Double rooms (26 to 28 sq.m.) have one large bed, again with a runway or terminal window. Private Resting Rooms (20 to 22 sq.m.) are windowless, built for one person and a few hours, with a retractable sofa, a separate shower room and a 55-inch smart TV.

Every room has an en-suite bathroom, a 65-inch smart TV in the Premier and Deluxe categories, high-speed Wi-Fi, and free coffee, tea and bottled water. Soundproofing is a selling point: the runway-view rooms look straight onto the apron without the noise. Guests aged 12 and over are charged as adults; the hotel also lists themed rooms for a change from the standard product.
Standard room amenities include:
- Air conditioning
- Bathroom amenities
- Desk
- Hair dryer
- Smart TV
- Tea and coffee maker
- Wi-Fi
Breakfast and Dining
The Hub on Level 7 is the hotel restaurant, with a garden view and a menu of local set meals, à la carte dishes and a buffet at selected meal times. Buffet breakfast is served from 6:30 am to 9:30 am and set meals from 10:00 am to 9:30 pm; The Hub is also sold as a landside lounge to non-guests through lounge-pass platforms.

Grab ‘n’ Go on Level 6 is open 24 hours a day for drinks, snacks and a quick bite between flights. The food court and shops of the T2 departures hall are one lift ride down.
Facilities and Services
Beyond the rooms the hotel runs a service hub for the terminal: meeting room, co-working space, shower bookings without a room, luggage storage, a brand experience zone and a meet-and-greet service. Reception is open 24 hours. There is no gym or pool; the product is rest and a shower a few minutes from check-in and security.

Online bookings must be made at least an hour before arrival. Advance-booking discounts of up to 25 percent have been offered for stays booked seven days ahead, and Smart Traveller members get a further discount. Payment is taken by Visa, Mastercard, Alipay, WeChat Pay and Apple Pay.
Location and Transportation
The hotel is inside Terminal 2 at 300 Qihang Road, on the landside of security. From the T2 departures hall walk to the rear of check-in counter G, take the escalator to Level 4 to the Aerotel entrance, then the lift to reception on Level 6. Passengers arriving at Terminal 1 walk across through the covered central walkways, about 10 to 15 minutes, or take the free inter-terminal bus.
Transit passengers should read the fine print: the hotel is before immigration, so you must clear entry into China to reach it. Many nationalities can do that visa-free for 24 hours in transit or for up to 240 hours under the transit policy explained in our visa-free transit guide. Arriving passengers from a domestic flight simply walk over.
For the city, the Pudong Airport station of Metro Line 2, the Maglev and the Airport Link Line is between the terminals, a few minutes on foot; see our guide to getting from Pudong Airport to the city.
Nearby Alternatives
For a full night at a lower price on foot from the terminals, the Dazhong Airport Hotel and the Holiday Inn Shanghai Pudong Airport are both on Yingbin Avenue within walking distance. The Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Shanghai Pudong Airport is five minutes away on a free shuttle with a full-service restaurant and spa.
